Large-scale Russian Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in delivering protection systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.
